redhat support for PowerPC

Has anyone had any luck with running apps specifically supported under RedHat 
on a Mac, I have heard of YellowDog but wonder if there is a way to get RedHat 
actually working on a Mac. I have a need to run some high end geophysical apps 
( currently an ageing IBM  laptop) but I am entirely Mac in the rest of my life 
and would love to be able to get rid of my intel for good, and justify the cost 
of a G5.
