Does anyone know of a hurry-up for this?

You could try signing up with BigPond ADSL on the shortest plan you
can get and then switching... Or at least ring BigPond and ask them
how long it would take to get connected.
AND THAT WOULD CAUSE A BIG STIR .
Big Pond is not allowed to get you connected any faster for a
connection to BigPond
than providing the service for you through IINET .... !
They have been in trouble for that before !

They may have got in trouble before but, they where the only provider
whom could guarantee an ADSL connection when switching from ISDN to
ADSL out here in the Eastern Suburbs, this includes iiNet with their
own equipment. I am not the only one recently either, as quite a few
people home and business I know in same predicament after many years of
fighting system for ADSL. Although I do believe iPrimus have been
connecting with Optus a new contender saying yes also. To be honest I
have not had a problem yet, including servers on a static IP, they
provide a service about the normal price and limits for what would be
available from others. Also at moment it costs nothing to connect
including modem, plus a whole lot of other freebies. So, save this money
and after a period of time just bail using the money you have saved
initially as your penalty pay-out. End of the day you will still have a
socket that is ADSL enabled. Oh and the wireless modem works a treat
with Airport and it is ADSL2+ compliant which Telstra are testing and
modifying exchanges with, officially since announcements of a standard
the other day.
Cheers!
