New versions have been announced last night:
Final Cut Pro 5
Motion 2
DVD Studio Pro 5
Soundtrack 2
The pack is $100 less than the current Production Bundle, at $1899.
The bundle still contains Compressor and Livetype, plus a new version
of Cinema Tools (3). Expected delivery is 4-6 weeks. The new options
look outstanding. To run any HD stuff you need a G5, plus the usual
graphics cards to run Motion. It also relies on Quicktime 7 (for
h.264), which I am sure will be released concurrently with 10.4. Also,
some functions of Motion require 10.4. Check the website above for
more info.
Shake 4 was also announced last night too. For those who have money to
burn, the US price is $2999. Hopefully with the better exchange rate,
we might see this skip under $4k here in Australia. Expected delivery
is sometime in the US summer (try September :-) ). Apple Australia
have yet to update their Shake page (showing 3.5 at the moment), so the
US is the only one with the new info <http://www.apple.com/shake>.
