I suspect putting Tiger on my G3/600 iBook with 384MB RAM is fairly
pointless :-/
ta muchly
While it wouldn't be snappy I couldn't see why not - if you have
adequate ram (not you can buy non apple branded SODIMM's that will
take your iBook up to spec and give it a couple more years of life).
I think the only bugbear that I've heard of is that it will not run
on some computers that could run previous OS X versions because it
needs a machine with built in FireWire (but I've no hands on to
vouched for that) however I've seen beta versions run on a few 500
iBooks at X World in June 03 and a couple more running later builds
since then no real problems.
I've pre ordered through work for one of my personal computer
though probably only on a drive in my G4 500 scratch box at first to
test application compatibility before putting on my PowerBook.
but can't see any rush to get it for my actual work box as I'm sure
that for at least the next year or two (if I'm still in their employ)
I'll still be supporting mostly 10.3...errr OK a few 10.3s ... lots
of 10.2's and (please Lord help me) more than a fair few recalcitrant
10.1 users (ow yeh! the joy! I'm happier supporting 9.2 on boxes of
that vintage than 10.1) ....
