Did you follow instructions for initialising the battery. If not then
unplug power, use your PB until the it goes into a Ram Saving Sleep;
red warning bars, message stating you are on reserve energy, and it
will shutdown in x minutes, just let it. When this finally happens
close lid plug-in power adapter which will go orange do not use PB
until this is Green, usually a couple of hours, sometimes sooner. Watch
a DvD this will run it down in no time, also this should be done at
least every 3-6 months to maintain battery life, I do as part of my
monthly maintenance.

The other issue not too sure have not seen any issues with this since
on lists. But, since it is so new I would suggest give Apple a ring it
is still free, and if going all the time it is a fault hence battery
drain.
I would suggest it will not be an uncommon problem especially here in
OZ with high temps, download a free temp sensor from version tracker to
monitor. My PB 17 with 128mb video from last year does run fans quite
often in afternoon but it depends on what is actually being processed.
The space on which it was sitting is very warm and base of PB does get
very hot sometimes, I have found that a simple cutting mat or place mat
allows a bit more air to pass through allowing it to maintain
consistent airflow and fans stop sooner.
Any suggestions to fixes for this that list members know of?
Ring Apple?
Running 10.3.8
Thanks
