Philippe, I don't believe that Firewire will be going anywhere too soon! There are certain advantages and disadvantages with each technology, but if anything was already that superior to Firewire you certainly would have seen it out there - at least in print. PC's have been equipped with Firewire for sometime now, and importantly the trend is increasing not declining. Many devices now come with both USB2 and Firewire for convenience, but I know which technology is my preference by far.
