Before Tiger, I used my iPod with Belkin Voice Recorder as a dictaphone and, after connecting the iPod to my PowerBook, could email my work as a sound attachment for my secretary to type.
I can't get that to happen since installing Tiger and updating to iTunes 4.8 The select "enable disc use" option in the preferences is ticked, but greyed out. The voice memo doesn't appear if I click on the iPod icon on my desktop, but shows up as if it is a song in the source bar in iTunes. I suspect that Apple in its kindly, paternalistic way has done this to stop any transfer from iPods to computers and in its dictatorial mode has not warned anyone that this is what it has done. Does any-one have a work around? Michael.
