Subject: Re: external HDD questions

there is no problem at all
i'm using 6 drives totalling 820gig capacity through fire wire
after purchase just plug in & you may be ask to initialized/format the
drive
that's it................os 9.1 does accept it, i sometimes copy data
from an old mac into the fw drive then connect the drive to my powerbook
& copy the file into the powerbook = fastest way to copy multi gigabytes
w/o ethernet

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about installing an external
firewire drive.

My dual processor G4 has the ports, so I was wanting to get a 250gig
HDD from PLE computers for around $190, and an external firewire/usb2
case too ,a nd build my own.

I want to use it for backup.

I’m wondering if OS9.2 will deal with, or even see it?

And thoughts would be appreciated.

Apple has the same thing for around $400.

Thanx

Mike
