If I restart in OS9.22 everythings fine. Any clues anyone?

Running 10.3.9 and 9.22 .All OK till yesterday. Suspect Kids mucking
around with MSN (They won't use their own imac cos it's too slow!!!!!!
and have inveigled their way into my eMac!)
MS Word (Vintage Office 2001) and MYOB Version Premier 5 both used to
start up fine in Classic but now Classic seems to be hanging on start
up of these programmes.
