Are you using Tiger or Panther? FYI I have noticed that if I accidently click on Adobe Stock Photos in Bridge, it tends to freeze for a while -- perhaps you have Bridge opening Stock Photos on startup? Other than that, the only problem I've had with CS2 is that Distiller 7 does not actually process any jobs for me: it finishes in "zero seconds" with no output and no log. Distiller 6 still works, though.
