Can you clarify: did you download the update via Apple's website (approx 40MB) or via Software Update (approx 20MB). If you downloaded via Software Update, you may have got a hardware-specific version of the update. This saves you time/cost for that download, since it is smaller, but means you can't use it on other hardware.
