Hi Gary,
I had the same problem too after upgrading to Tiger.
Current solution is to do a Force Quit on Finder. Then eject the CD
and re-insert it and Tiger will recognised it now.
I think 10.4.2 is "set" to fix it.

itunes 4.7.1
itunes automatically named the CD the library name- groovy
and Cd place back okay on mac and cd player
is this error message anything to be concerned about?
note : this did not happen with the previous batch of cd's
