As far as I could tell from that report Intel hasn't actually said that the chipsets don't have DRM technologies. All they've said is that the chipsets don't have "unannounced" DRM technologies.

Does anyone remember DRM for the apple DVDs.  That was heaps of fun.
I love using Apple products but the day they start incorporating DRM into their machines is the day I switch to being a PC user.

Until everyone else is doing it I think it would be a very big mistake to start incorporating DRM into chipsets. If I'm not the only person with this point of few on DRM then Apple could stand to lose a lot of loyal customers.
