Hi Norm,

Yes, I used to use WP a lot and much prefered it to Word - at least you
could see the various formating codes and have a modicum of control rather
than trying to second guess what the program was doing!

I still have Wordperfect running on my G4 Ti powerbook under OS9.1 - mainly
to open old documents though sometimes I still generate a letter or fax by
editing an old one rather than starting from scratch.

I'm actually running Wordperfect 3.0a (a 1993/94 version!) and the only snag
I had was that the program was on a bunch of floppies! from memory I
connected the powerbook to my old IIvx by ethernet and installed it from the
IIvx onto the powerbook (I just did it the once about four years ago & its
been working OK ever since).

I haven't actually tried installing it on my iMac running OSX 10.2 so I
can't vouch for if it runs OK in classic - but I would definitely give it a
go.

I don't know what was the last Mac version they got to before giving up -
but I seem to remember that there was a later version offered as a free
download a few years ago - Google or others may be able to point you in the
right direction.

If running WP in classic is not your long term goal ;) provided you can run
the program you should be able to save the files in another format (WP 3.0
offers me an RTF export option) and then use your OSX weapon of choice!

HTH

Cheers

Neil
