Norm,

I knew WordPerfect was available as a free download, and I still use it for legacy files in Classic mode with 10.4.1. A bit of Googling came up with
this:

WordPerfect for Macintosh

Corel stopped providing new versions of WordPerfect for Macintosh a couple of
years ago. They have provided a final free version of WordPerfect -
WordPerfect 3.5 enhanced. From this page you may download that file plus an update for OS 8/9. Note that WordPerfect 3.5 Enhanced does not contain the
templates, and many other extras, associated with an installation of
WordPerfect from a CD-ROM or floppy disks. Corel used to provide some support
files at their Web site but no support the Macintosh platform.

You may still run WordPerfect 3.5 on new Macintosh computers (OS X) by
utilizing Classic mode. If you have a G5-based platform, you must install Classic Support from the "Additional Software" disk that shipped with your
computer. Support for Classic mode is no longer part of the default
configuration of MacOS X.

It's probably available at other sites too.

Subject: Wordperfect

Hi,

I have a whole bunch of files in WordPerfect - it was great software
when using mathematical equations.

Corel did not bring out a version for Mac OS X, at least I don't
believe so.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to access these files in
Panther or Tiger?

Thanks in anticipation.
