Anyone know how to SEND basic MIDI info (via a MIDI interface
obviously) with AppleScript?
Is a scriptable application actually required?
Any pointers would be appreciated.

You can call into Java methods with AppleScript, so you may be able
to do it that way (although that begs the question of why not just do
it in Java?)
(A quick search of the last 6 years of the AppleScript mailing list
doesn't reveal any obvious solutions...)
