Greetings all,
I am now able to use the latest OSX.4.2 and the Open NT1 Plus II ISDN
modem.
This was achieved by purchasing a Netgear fr328s Router $199.00 from
Harris Technology Osb Pk.
Westnet support were extremely helpful in advising how to set up the
modem as a "dumb box", (their term).
That is, the ISDN modem is no longer is connected via the USB port
but the serial connection, thereby overcoming the connectivity
problems created by Apple/Telstra/Open NT not getting together to
sort their differences.
They no doubt will have a fix eventually, as they did last year, but
Murphy will remind us that they probably will mess it up again next
time there is an upgrade in the OS.
The added benefit is that the router also enhances the firewall
capabilities.
