Well as much as I don't really want to recommend a Dull - I mean Dell, they do a 19" (48cm) widescreen LCD screen with TV capability with picture-in-picture support to watch TV while you work on the computer or vice versa and a resolution of 1280x768.
The P/P (PIP, POP, PBP) feature supports viewing of two content sources simultaneously, but not two TV channels unless the viewer has an additional TV tuner. It is currently going for 20% off: Aus$1040 Price valid to : 5/8/2005 so you'd better order online tonight if you're not already to late! And I have to admit it actually looks relatively stylish (for a Dell!): http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/featured_snp4?c=au&l= en&s=bsd We're looking at getting the 24" widescreen Dell LCD for work which features composite video inputs as well as VGA and DVI, the same picture in picture capabilities as the monitor above, a resolution of 1900x1200 but it doesn't have a TV tuner built-in. The current special is Aus$1,440. -Mart > From: Reg Whitely <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Fri, 5 Aug 2005 19:41:44 +0800 > To: WAMUG Mailing List <[email protected]> > Subject: LCD TV/Monitors > > Hi All WAMUGgers > > I'm interested in your feedback on a small/er LCD Tv that could also > double as a monitor. > Something portable that could be second TV at home and also I could > use as second monitor for Powerbook. > > Websearch shows Sony Vega MFMHT95 - 19" and -MHT75 - 17" with > 1280x1024 resolution but Sony retail at about $1400-1800. > > Local HN store has a Phillips 23PF9946/79 (23") 1280x79 for $1900 > showroom display. > > *Actually I was thinking of paying about half these prices at most! > > LCD seems very expensive.
