Yep, it seems to put them in a temporary directory. Add "open finder
items", or "move finder items" (or move then open) to the bottom of
the workflow, and then Save As... from Preview. You could also try
"rename finder items" (which has lots of options) to give it some
kind of sensible name automatically.
I added the > open finder items - selected preview
it opened the resultant file in Preview- with some obscure name - O9SkA1.pdf
did saved as
great it worked, now I got my new pdf file
