The autocomplete facility which looks at the first couple of
characters then guesses what you are about to enter and does it for
you is great in some cases but a real pest at other times.
This afternoon, sending a fax overseas from the Print dialog, the
"00.." of the "0011" consistently put in in full a name and phone
number from my address book, completely wrong. I finally tricked it
by just carrying on and then editing out the spurious bit. I can
find no preference setting to control this.
In Mail find it very useful in addressing emails and to a lesser
extent for URLs in Safari but would like to switch it off at times.
Some similar bizarre fill ins come in WordX.
Is there a setting I can get to, I can't find it.
