Be careful. Many laser printer manufacturers are now "chipping" cartridges so they can't be refilled, and trying to shut down companies that work around those restrictions to refill them, just like inkjet makers are. This is especially true in their lower-end laser printers. All that means is that you can't assume a laser printer will be that much cheaper to run - you really need to check the actual consumable costs. Also remember to check the cost of service packs (new fuser, etc) and how frequently they're required. -- Craig Ringer
