Why " understandably " ?
The compaq could be a VGA connector ! ? What is the connector on your
G3 ?
Are you using a Converter ? ( Mac to VGA )
What model G3 ?
What OS ?
The only 640 x 480 resolution's I know are on the Mac 13 " of about 12
years ago .
Later Monitors would handle higher resolutions depending on the OS and
Power Mac.
