Dear WAMUGgers
When browsing the internet tonight I came upon this disclaimer from
an on-line shop, which clearly has a retail front:
"Important Note:
In order to encourage online ordering, there may be a $5 fee for
orders placed with a sales assistant. To avoid this you can also
order on the computer consoles in store if you can't order online
first. Product information is acquired from suppliers and relevant
manufacturers. Please check directly with the manufacturers for the
most up to date information. While we make every effort to keep this
site current and error free, we cannot honour errors which include
but are not limited to outdated/incorrect pricing and/or
specifications. Please feel free to verify any information with us by
email. Prices and specifications can change without notice. Pictures
are for illustration purposes only."
What do you think?
As much as I like browsing the internet, and occasionally buying on-
line, I must admit I prefer the personal touch of over-the-counter
buying; provided of course that I feel welcomed and that the shop
assistant/consultant really does care.
I like the reference to the "computer consoles in store". So I've
struggled to the shop, only to find the snarling assistant looking at
me. Ok, log in on the computer near the front door, place my order,
and beat a hasty retreat!
Hey, that sounds like my bank!
