15" 400 MHz G4 Ti Powerbook Had problem with left hand shift key not depressing properly (switch is fine problem was mechanical). I suspected shit under key but, whilst trying to dislodge the problem, I dislodged the key itself. Now I'm having trouble trying to re-fit the key.
The switch still works and the dislodged key does not seem to have any broken/damaged pieces. There is a two-part white plastic scissor mechanism still attached to the base of the (removed) key and a |___| shaped swivelling wire piece, also still attached to the key. I can see where the key fits over the switch button but I am not sure how to get the various mechanisms to engage the lugs on the keyboard. Does anybody out there have experience with removing and re-fitting keys who could point me in the right direction - ideally a link to a drawing showing how the key mechanism works!
