Thanks everyone for the information you've provided. Since the
microphone I bought was very cheap I'm guessing that the usb
microphone might actually end up providing better quality even though
it's the cheaper option for me.
Now I just have to figure out whether I should go for a webcam to get
better value for money or not. I wasn't really worried about sound
quality but I guess it will be useful for tuning my bass guitar or if
I later decide to do anything a little more demanding.
