This is at least the third time that I know of that Dell has had this
monitor on special at around the $1400 mark, so I wouldn't worry if anyone
misses getting one this time. I got a 24" Dell at work the second time I
discovered they were at that price. Dell's pretty sneaky with their
marketing - they make you rush so as not to miss out on their "rare"
specials when in fact they perhaps aren't that rare after all. :-)
That said, I am quite happy with my 24".

Mine originally was too bright for me to look at for too long without my
eyes starting to water (and don't joke Craig - I did really use sunglasses a
few times the first week or so!). However, either it has dimmed a bit over
the weeks following purchase or my eyes have gotten used to it now. :-)
I've found the monitor rotation and multiple video inputs were big selling
points for me originally, but truth be known I've only ever used the monitor
rotation to show off the monitor (!!) and the only extra video input I've
used is the VGA input for my Dell PC which can't even drive the monitor at
its full 1920x1200 resolution. My Aluminium PowerBook G4 of course has no
problems doing so through DVI.
