OT Fluid head tripod for video

MY son has just purchased a HD Video Cam and wants a fluid head  
tripod. As he is broke following the purchase of said camera we were  
looking for a Pre-Owned one, I am told a Miller or one similar. Price  
up to $400+, has any one any suggestions. We have looked on eBay  
without much success. :-(
