This is a guide for setting up Sharepoints. It was back in Panther,
but might be useful
to Severin.

Restores OS9 style ability to configure individual folder permissions.
You should create her as a user in sharepoints because if you can't
change
the rights of the admin user. Get her to log-in in future as the
user you
create for her. Then you can choose to share folders on a case by case
basis.

I want my wife to have access to many files on my G4 and its
connected Firewire disks. She has a G3 iMac with X10.4.3, same as
me, and file sharing between the two machines works smoothly either
way logged in as the appropriate administrator, ie she can log into
my computer with my name and admin password and do anything she likes
and me likewise to her computer. Therein lies the problem. I am
competent not to damage her files but the same, sad to say, and she
would agree with me!, is not the same in reverse. For example, I
would hate her to accidentally damage our photo collection, even
though it is separately archived. Can I organise "Read only" access
for her to those files and disks, Ie how can she connect to my whole
computer with other than administrator privileges. I seem to
remember how to do this in OS9 but cannot figure it out for X.
