I have two Macs, each with 10.4.3 and connected by ethernet via
router. In one direction I can connect to either the user or all and
any hard drives, in the other I can connect only to the user. This
was not the case before I started fiddling today!!
As far as I can see the settings ownership and permissions are
mirrored and in each case on connecting I go in as a Registered User
with the administrator's name and password for the computer I am
connecting to. A clue may be that on one machine an alias to the
other appears in "Network" but this is not the case the other way
around.
