Help please.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. I am trying to copy some  
files in a folder from an iMac of vintage years onto a G4 laptop.  
They are both on ethernet and when I try to put the folder into the  
Drop-box I get the usual msg about insufficient privs to see them and  
then it comes up with "the copy could not be created because the  
folder "files to keep" could not be created. OK!   Well it isn't  
OK   :-(
