Hi WAMUGers,

Since having my new G4 1.67GHz 17" PowerBook OSX10.4.4 I've been experiencing Audio 'stutter/replay' problem in iChatAV 3.1.1 with my sister who has in a G4 933MHz 14" iBook OSX10.4.4

I have never experienced Audio problems using iChat before.
I thought 'maybe' my PowerBook having a faster processor speed than my sister's iBook?

My Internet account is 512k/128k my sister's is 256k/64k, but this has never caused any problems before.

I did as suggested in Apple Discussions & opened extra Ports in my Firewall .... made no difference.

Searching around for reasons why, I came across these articles below, but I don't have any problems listening to iTunes music, only iChat Audio.

<http://www.macnn.com/articles/06/01/26/powerbook.audio.defect/>

"A group of PowerBook owners are crying out to Apple, hoping the company will answer their pleas with a solution to an audio defect in its 12-, 15-, and 17-inch PowerBook models. According to the website, the problem manifests randomly in Mac OS X as a looping/echo sound that magnifies itself for approximately 4-5 seconds, apparently stemming from Apple's internal hardware, as some PowerBook owners report that the problem disappears when they connect an external sound card to the laptop."

Are any other WAMUGers with the New G4 PowerBooks experiencing anything similar?

Any ideas on what would be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ronni
