Your Apple dealer may have a solution that will suit.
There is a range of solutions, from flashing the hardware to
interposing software before your system gets a chance to impose region
coding.
A search of the wamug archive will give you plenty of suggestions.
I recommend using a software player that doesn't allow the Mac drivers
a look in.
The free VLC is a popular choice.

There is essentially nothing your dealer can do, hardware-wise. Best
method is either to use Mac the Ripper to rip the dvd to your hard
drive, or use VLC to play the dvd rather than the Apple DVD player.
I don't recommend flashing etc as it is something that may void your
Apple warranty if something goes wrong with the drive.
