Had a request for help. I don't have macs at school . Can anyone

am really hoping that you might be able to answer some questions for
us or at least point us in the right direction.
Our Library system is ATHENA , which we have been using for about six
years and have been pretty happy with it, however we lost our search
terminals about 2-3 years ago and have had no luck in finding anybody
who can help us. Leda is part of the 100 schools project and we were
hopeful that they would be able to sort out the problem last year.
Our search terminal computers are Apple Macs and as much as 100
schools were VERY reluctant to help us at all, they had a quick look
and said that perhaps with PC search terminals we would be more
successful.
What I am asking I suppose is:
Do you know anything about Library systems?
Are there any systems out there that are compatible with Apple Macs?
If so, are we able to transfer our information over easily?
What are the costs involved in getting set up?
Are there any ongoing costs that you are aware of?
Does anyone know the answer of wether PC’s will link with Athena and
give us our search terminals?
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I will put these questions
out onto Watlnet to get an idea of what systems are being used out
there and what peoples’ opinions are. Ultimately we would love for
someone who knows about library systems to come to the school and
tell us exactly what we need to do. We are tired of fumbling around
in the dark and would love this issue resolved.
