Bon Echo Alpha 1 Milestone
Please Note: We do not recommend that anyone other than developers
and testers download this Alpha 1 milestone release, as it is
intended for testing purposes only.
Bon Echo Alpha 1 is the first of many developer milestones on the
path to Firefox 2. This milestone is focused on testing the backend
infrastructure supporting our new Places functionality. Ongoing
planning for Firefox 2 can be followed on the public Wiki at: http://
wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox2.
Changes in this milestone that require feedback include:
Changes to tabbed browsing behavior
New data storage layer for bookmarks and history (using SQLlite)
Extended search plugin format
Updates to the extension system to provide enhanced security and to
allow for easier localization of extensions
Support for SVG text using svg:textPath
The Bon Echo start page has been changed to make it easier for
testers to provide feedback and report bugs.
Builds are available for testing at:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/bonecho/alpha1/

Note to Bloggers, Press and Others: Please do not link directly to
the download site. Instead we strongly encourage you to link to this
Bon Echo milestone announcement so that everyone will know what this
milestone is, what they should expect, and who should be downloading
to participate in testing at this stage of development.
