as you say prices are much the same, I think the savings can be made on
inks by choosing a printer that uses individual colour cartridges....
some of the canons use individuals and catridges can be as cheap as $7
per colour. Savings depend on your usage really.

With new Epsons going at about $130 - $220 it seems wiser to upgrade.
