8inch that's positively Jurassic (invented in the 50's?). Last system I used (or even saw) with a 8" unit was way back early 80's on a IBM mainframe and a CPM based supermini computer.

short answer would be no

long answer would be "maybe but do you enjoy trolling for parts and low level hardware hacking"

easy but expensive answer would be try Dr Disk or other data recovery services who might have such a unit mothballed and that, for the exchange of a significant amount of money they, could read (and given the 20+ year age of any disk do the required forensic recovery) and then give you a copy of the required files on a more usable media
