No, I have not made myself clear. I want to find a particular photo in iPhoto and I use the search facility. I find it, and I then want to know where it is,physically, in the library. I hope you now understand :-)

You'll find a program called Image Capture in your Applications folder. You can use this to browse and download selected photos onto your hard disk.
From there you can import them into iPhoto.
