Thanks to those listers who gave me good advice on this problem,
however I have given up on it and given it over to a friend who
doesn't give up so easily.
Following your suggestions I:
1. swapped Ram around using various slots.
2. Changed HD
3. Changed the CD drive
...and a lot of other tricks to no avail. I did get OS9 loaded but
upon restart the screen didn't get past the happy Mac.
I now have a problem with one of my eMacs running 10.4 The startup
button on the side does not work all the time but will work when I
turn off the power for a short time and press the button again.
Wassup?
