Hi
Just out of curiosity, I have one of these covers but it attracts the
dust and dirt like crazy! Are they all the same?

Failing that there are a number of retailers who carry these type
of products for much less than $50. eBay, for instance, has such
covers listed for $20-25 including delivery. Try searching for
iMask or iSkin. I bought mine via eBay 18 months ago and it is
still in top condition.

I suspect the silicone sealant will be difficult to apply (messy,
uncomfortable) and it will not be quite the same type of silicone as
your keyboard cover. Perhaps you could test it on a key that you
rarely use. Here's an idea: if your cover isn't too threadbare or
holey, you could probably strengthen it by sticking some sticky tape
to the underside. That might prevent a new split from forming, and
even reduce the rate of thinning.
Thanks - I thought of sticky tape first but then thought the
sticky bit
will poke through, gather dust etc. But I might fiddle with it and
give
it a try!
