Dear WAMUG'ers, As a follow-up to the problem my printer (/scanner) encountered with printing, I've tried to clean the print head of the Epsom CX5300 as best as I could without any success. In fact the colour printing has also gone South!
The printer is now at the Mt Hawthorn place, but the news is not very good. Looks like I may need to buy new print head, which is not economically feasible - a new printer/scanner would cost much less than the parts let alone the labour cost on top. The firm's tech is still trying to clear the jets, as there is a slight chance he might clear them. And to think that the printer has had only Epsom proprietary DuraBrite inks, with only one change of ink cartridges! So, inkjet printers are now banned from my vocabulary! It is definitely cheaper to get our digital photos printed by a photo shop than at home. Besides, colour lasers are getting cheaper and cheaper. So this will be the way I'll go eventually.
