Many thanks for all the replies and suggestions about this. I think I'll buy a Tiger anyway and see what happens. I can either use Appleworks 6 - if it's still available - with Text Edit or NeoOffice for translating the occasional MS Word document. Or get MS Ofice for Mac and hope I can get a translator to bring my old data bases and spreadsheets over. Another possibility is to try and find the previous level of iMac with Panther and both native and Classic modes on it. Does anyone know of a dealer who might still have one.
