Now that would be a step in the right direction! I find Bridge rather constraining but liked the feel of Lightroom beta trial. A bundled update from CS2 to CS3 which included Lightroom and dropped Bridge might be relatively easy on the pocket. I work with RAW photos from a Nikon camera which produces .NEF files that annoyingly iPhoto will not recognise. Currently I do it all in PhotoShopCS2 with the initial processing batched using a droplet. I save the output, which are flattened .psd files, in iPhoto in a series of libraries accessed via iPhoto Library Manager. Very occasionally I have to go back to the archived original .NEF raw files. It would be nice if they went straight into iPhoto, untouched and became the archive. Another path would seem to be via .dng but iPhoto will not handle that either. Aperture is fine apart from the money, and would reinforce my loyalty to Apple, given I already have and like iPhoto. It's a dilemma indeed.
I will keep watching this space!
Best wishes
Severin
