I wish to scan and burn to CD my home collection of personal 35mm
slides and photos. Any recommendations for a scanner? This is not a
highly professional operation, just home use. I have tried to look
at the archives but I am unable to find anything at all within the
last 18 months. Obviously I am incompetent at using the archives!
Using OS X 10.4.7 on a TiPB 867 [which means USB 1.1].
Thanks for any pointers.
First you need the right archives address ... everybody store this
bookmark please :-
<http://wamug.org.au:8100/Lists/wamug/List.html>
and if you just put " slides " in the search box and hit enter
( return) you will get a number of hits ,
and I am not saying they are all useful , but it is a starting point .
Instead of "slides" you can try some other words eg: photo ,
photo's , scan , etc.
So much for the archives
For the 35 mm slides think .. they are small ... so you need many dpi
per inch for quality .
You need the right sort of fitting to hold them , perhaps they need
a backlight ???
Check out the spec's of the Epson 3590 to get the thought processes
working

Make sure you get all the link detail and it will take you to the
dwonload page for the 3590 manual etc
