Barbara,
No doubt there are several ways to tackle this ... my personal way of
making sure images don't cause grief in Word is to paste them as a
Picture, then set wrapping to In Line with Text:
- Edit, Paste Special, Picture
- then Format Picture, Layout, In Line With Text
(to get to the Format Picture menu, you can right click the image, or
depending on your toolbar setup, you may see the toolbar)
To resize the image in word, just click it and drag the resize handles.
I know this doesn't make use of all of the 'powerful but easy to use'
features of MS Word, but in my experience, this simple approach means
the images behave in a predictable fashion in all circumstances (ie.
avoid your images straying around your document in a somewhat random
fashion). If you want to 'float' an image, you do need to use a Text
Box.
If you want to be more precise and resize images before pasting (e.g.
reduce image quality and/or size, set exact size)... try Image Well,
a free and very easy way to do this. http://xtralean.com/

Dear WAMUGers
When using Word, I frequently would like to insert a graphic or
picture.
Two things...I cannot see the graphic on my normal page layout so am
fumbling around Œin the dark¹ and once inserted, find I cannot
manipulate
the size. Same for .jpg pictures, etc. Trying to adjust the .jpg
size
whilst using Preview doesn¹t seem to work, even if I make the picture
smaller, save it in the smaller size, then try to insert the
smaller version
in the Word document, I still get the full size. Arrrggghhhh!!
What am I
doing wrong? Or, is there a thread which deals with this?
