no avail. Running dual screens, with a Logitech 2.4GHz wireless
mouse. Unplugged this and 2nd screen to no avail.

It sounds like you could have inadvertently turned zoom on. To turn
it off:
1. Open the 'Universal Access' preference pane (System
Preferences > Universal Access)
2. Look for the 'Zoom' item, it's the second one down.
3. Click the 'Off' radio button
4. Quit System Preferences.
