Gary, I believe Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional allow you to tile pages (print a big pages as parts using smaller pages). It's in the General print options under 'page scaling'. Probably also available in Reader come to think of it.
I don't think you can tile using the print options native to OSX. Cheers, T.
