I have an early 2006 Intel 20 inch which I needed to re-boot with the
two bootup disks (10.4.4 dvds), and the re-install keeps hanging up
with a message of an error and need to re-install. It (the computer)
never succesffuly carried out the smc firmware update (862 kb) that
hangs around in the software update page - I'm wondering whether the
two issues might be linked ?
If possible - I might need an offline conversation (with any willing
participant) as there might be other pre-existing conditions inspired
by the initial transfer of some things from the old G3 600 mhz to the
Intel on startup.
