If you want to buy new that's probably as good as you'll ever get
(and yeh it is a pretty good deal) will be good for at least 3 years
worth of normal computer usage
if your not hung up on new suggest you look at the S/H market G4 G5
s/h prices have crashed to almost nothing
Yep get the extra memory (and the extended warranty)
that's only $100 more than we sold off a dozen 3 year old used eMacs
a few months back (though they had 768MB ram)
we were very happy with our little lab of emacs - had no major
hardware trouble with them in their 3 years
Happy Australia day to you all,
Dad would like to purchase one of these eMacs. Does anyone know if
there is a way to get a better computer for the money. He's not too
keen on going second hand or ex demo. I have recommended that he go
for the ram upgrade offer if he goes ahead.

I've had an eMac for a couple of years and it has been a great
little machine after a ram upgrade and the addition of an external
hard drive. Dad doesn't have very sophisticated needs. Email and web
access off dial-up. A bit of word processing etc and some mucking
about with iPhoto. No plans to burn DVDs.
I would really appreciate any advice that any of you have time to offer.
Cheers
Paul
