Dude,

you don't need to wait three weeks. I had exactly the same problem as yoy with my macbook battery. I rang applecare, explained the situation and they arranged for a replacement to be sent to Next byte in neldands, and in the meantime I picked up one in stock from nextbyte nedlands. Changeover time one day.

Hi All,

In a strange coincidence my MacBook battery started exhibiting the
exact same symptoms as a recent poster on this list. I was using it
on Monday and I didn't have the power plugged in and went out for the
day, when I came home I found that the battery had drained and the MB
had switched itself off. When I plugged it back in the power came on,
however I noticed that the battery indicator had a cross through it
and if I clicked on it it said "No batteries available".

I did a bunch of searching on Google and found that apparently there
is a widespread issue with the MacBook batteries where they have a
"minimum charge limit" and if the power drains below that level then
the battery is no longer recognised and can never be charged
again....*sigh*. So I opened a case with Apple and the guy, despite
being very helpful and accepting that I had already tried all the
usual troubleshooting techniques, seemed to know nothing about this
being a widespead issue. I took the MB into Next Byte in Carousel
(sp?) and they put my battery into another MB and sure enough it
still didn't work.

So I am now without a battery for 3 weeks on my work laptop, which
makes it hard to see clients, however I thought I would let the list
know that this is a problem so if you experience it you know what its
all about.

Cheers,

Adam.
