After some online searching, it seems obvious the function is included in FileMaker 8 ... I just can't find the function in 7. It seems completely insane that I can't choose which table I want to import data into ... If

In Filemaker 7 and later, layouts and tables are inextricably linked, to the point that when you create a new table in a Filemaker file, a new default layout for that table is also created. You simply need to make sure that you are on that layout (or another layout based on that table) when you import the data.
